We found our hostel right away after arriving in Prague. The Boathouse hostel was probably the best hostel of the entire trip. The ladies that ran it were very nice and accommodating, and the place had a great feel to it. The dinners they cooked were amazing as well and very cheap. I would really recommend this place to anyone that goes to Prague. It's a little more out of the way than I would have liked, but it's still great. April 5th After some delicious complementary breakfast, me, Burke...
Prague, Czech Republic bpburns64Prague has been great to me so far. It has so many amazing monuments and sites to see. It has a good old square and it's a place where tourists can be bewildered with amazement. Quite unfortunately, I haven't yet fallen into the charm that Prague offers. I've seen a few sites and I understand why it's a great plce to visit, but I haven't felt the enchantment of the city. I've been waiting for it and I'm trying to want to love the place, but as a tourist on a backpacker route, it's not yet hap...
Prague, Czech Republic bsuarezDay 24 Finally I have something semi-substantial to write about. Damn was Venice full of nothing! The train ride from Wien to Praha was nice. A little lonely since the two people in my compartment didn't speak English and I had decided not to sit with the three Americans in the next one over. The Czech countryside was very pretty. Almost all green though there were occasional wonderfully looking patches of yellow. Yellow what I don't know. I doubt they were dandelions. Looked like some produc...
Prague, Czech Republic chet88"Well there isn't a ticket dispenser, I guess ill just jump on....What! a twenty dollar fine" Welcome to Prague. Prague, the home of Charles bridge, Prague castle, and the astronomical clock within the Old Square. I stayed at the Boathouse, a hostel run by three fabulous older women. The hostel is located on the outskirts of town, but the home cooked meals and comfortable atmosphere certainly make up for the location. Pragues Gothic architecture and soviet past make it a city different from a...
Prague, Czech Republic chrisalbeckHi, (It's Sarah) So, after a LONG overnight busride from Budapest..Dev and I arrived in Prague and found our way to our amazing hostel 'The Boathouse' (thanks again for that recommendation Mark!) We walked in and were told to go and help ourselves to coffee and the huge breakfast buffet. After 8hrs on the bus, graeter words have never been spoken. Our first day in Prague was a bit of a bust. A combination of laziness and bad timing meant that our planned day trip to Kunta Hora (where there's ...
Prague, Czech Republic devonandsarahThis is actually the second place I stayed. Can't remember the name of the first but it was in town rather than on the edge. This place was much, much nicer!
Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic l37sallymMOOD: Bewitched, bothered and bewildered PLACE: Boathouse Hostel, Rm 8 DATE: Sept 21, 2006 TIME: 1:37am SONG STUCK IN MY HEAD: Some awful American "modern rock" song that was playing on the radio of the taxi cab that I reluctantly took back to the hostel. LAST FOOD CONSUMED: An "old Czech" traditional meal of potato and bread dumplings with kraut and smoked meat, but really, my most recent consumption was Fernet Citrus and a half liter of Gambrinus beer I've learned my lesson: plan ahead for ...
Prague, Czech Republic monkeyduckMOOD: Antsy SONG STUCK IN MY HEAD: "Get Back In The Line" by The Kinks TIME: 11:14am, Sept. 24 PLACE: Simon's roommate's bed, Munich LAST FOOD CONSUMED: Sandwiches from items I bought from a market in Vienna: Breadies brand Graham Geback rolls, Landjager sausages and Zwiebel-Schnittlauch cheese. Oh, and half a Milka hazelnut bar. But that was hours ago on the train and this morning I haven't eaten anything. So, I'm missing a day in my write-ups, and since I'm starving and Munich awaits outsid...
Prague, Czech Republic monkeyduckShort entry and stories: Prague really lights up at night and just wanted to show a few photos. Chainsaw Massacre - at the Elf we met Tyler a kick ass cool Canadian who unfortunately snored like a hard core chainsaw! We moved to the Boathouse hostel...unfortunately it was miles and miles away, but had a good breakfast at least. Will was wasted one night in the hallway when a girl from Mexico practically attacked him...damn Alabamian animal sexuality! Kenny has made it so far without getting p...

... i didnt know it at the time - i would ever find in the czech republic) it also proved to be incredibly toxic and poor old stephen had to put up with a very giggly amy for about 2 hours until the effects wore off... and for that i am eternally grateful to him!!! he was a true gentleman. Back to Prague - and more walks, more wine, its such a lovely city to walk around and look at, this time we had a whole room to our selves - which was really nice. We discovered a little ...
