This Backpacker/ holiday park was great! Showers with views of the water and right at the entrance of Abel Tasman. We didn't get to take advantage of the outdoor fire pit, but we would definitely stay here again.

Great DVD collection, duvets were like clouds! However showers were either scalding or off so not a great shower experience, kitchen lovey and warm, staff a bit grumpy though

Great place to stay, the close proximity to the N.P is just fab. The outside kitchen could do with some more kitchen utensils but otherwise no complaints. A few friends and me went horseriding with some horses from the field across the way, the guy who wned them was a little strange but certainly knew his stuff and took us on a lovely ride on the beach and then through the local countryside. Good value too.

Right after the dolphin swimming, we left Kaikoura for Picton, a small town in the south island where the ferry connecting New Zealand's two main islands stops. The town is in the Marlborough region, where most of New Zealand wine is produced. One of my favourite white wines, the Kim Crawford, was produced a few kilometres from here! Picton is …

Driving up from Hokatika we decided to stop anywhere along the way that looked awesome! After two hours of stopping at every turn, we decided to only stop at REALLY REALLY awesome places. And that is how we ended up at the Pancake Rocks.

After scaring away a Weka (Kiwi's cousin, flightless bird but with a shorter beak) from our lunch, we …

Here we are, in Marahau. This is the gateway into the Abel Tasman National Park. It actually is a very small village located in the Tasman Region. Its location on the Tasman Bay and at the Southern entrance of the Abel Tasman National Park makes it a popular holiday destination for all kind; trampers, kayakers and beachgoers. But don't expect much …

GR: We left Wellington early doors, loudly awoken by a room-mate leaving for Auckland in emphatic fashion. A moody/hangover/shattered ferry trip later, we were arriving in Picton on New Zealand's South Island where we changed to a full size coach but kept our driver, Chris, who announced rather too proudly his lack of experience driving a big …
