My first encounter of Cape Town and I could not have been happier. The staff were friendly and the rooms and facilities were very clean and modern.

I felt safe during my stay. Even if you did not leave The Backpack there was a pleasant communal area, with bar, pool table and snacks. Each night they played great music and the atmosphere was great. Also, there is free wifi in this area.

      I recommend a visit.

Back to Cape Town. Today, 16th June, I remembered a men who "gone" 3 years ago and I didn't' have time to give him a last kiss and say "I love you dad." It was a sad, cold and rainy day. I decided to stay under the covers all day next to the fireplace in the lounge of the hostel, seeing old photos and trying to learn how to use some …

Went on a half day tour to Cape Point, bendy roads, great scenery and more yummy food followed by a long flight home with a cheeky 5 hour layover power visit into Amsterdam.

Africa has been one of my favourite countries travelled so far from the people we met, mountains we climbed, animals we seen and the things we have done here it has …

A long day leading to a fantastic view of Table Mountain.

The day went well though, I thought my overage charge for my bag at Nelspruit was adorably small, 26 dollars for being damn near 15 Kgs overweight.

In Jo'burg I tried to get some business with Virgin done and it took too long, Amy got worried despite my assurances that I …

When we got back Gavin had made us all of this AMAZING food. It was seriously the best camping food ever. Chicken stew, rice, veggies and a great salad...get this Mom: I picked out the TOMATOES so I could eat more of them, I had second helpings (and I've eaten shrimp in every port too, no eggs yet though or mushrooms). We'd already ...
