My first encounter of Cape Town and I could not have been happier. The staff were friendly and the rooms and facilities were very clean and modern.

I felt safe during my stay. Even if you did not leave The Backpack there was a pleasant communal area, with bar, pool table and snacks. Each night they played great music and the atmosphere was great. Also, there is free wifi in this area.

    I recommend a visit.

Back to Cape Town. Today, 16th June, I remembered a men who "gone" 3 years ago and I didn't' have time to give him a last kiss and say "I love you dad."

It was a sad, cold and rainy day. I decided to stay under the covers all day next to the fireplace in the lounge of the hostel, seeing old photos and trying to learn how to use some …

A long day leading to a fantastic view of Table Mountain.

The day went well though, I thought my overage charge for my bag at Nelspruit was adorably small, 26 dollars for being damn near 15 Kgs overweight.

In Jo'burg I tried to get some business with Virgin done and it took too long, Amy got worried despite my assurances that I …

September 21st - Having said goodbye to our driver we left the truck in Namibia and travelled to South Africa by bus. The scenery on our journey to Cape Town was quite unbelievable with vineyards and snow capped mountains. September 22nd - We hiked up table mountain which took four hours and was exceptionally nerve wracking as we edged our way …
