I was surprised that the road to Kitimat was a really good paved one. I guess I expected it to be more rugged. Kitimat was also a surprise. I thought it was a small fishing village but it is quite large and very modern. We drove down the road to the Alcan plant and saw how huge that operation is! They produce aluminum and are going through a modernization. ...
We left home at 2pm yesterday. Jerry had worked a night shift and slept for a few hours before we set off. We had a quiet drive, I guess with the kids back in school this could be a fairly quiet relaxing trip. We saw an elk in Jasper, a deer further along and a beautiful bull moose near Prince George. By the time we stopped and went back to take pictures of the moose it had run off. Very disappointed! Last night we stayed at the Purden Lake ...
... we don't run out of gas in the middle of nowhere. As I'm writing this we've driven nearly 100 miles without seeing a town or another road, and low and behold on the side of the road, a black bear was enjoying some berries! He only ran away when our car got close. He was soooo fuzzy! I'm goona go back and make him part of the Conti family, I think he'd fit right in :) ...
... then one can put a campground on it. If you get, again, WiFi, electricity, a water spigot, and a dump station...people will come. You charge $ 28 to 35 dollars a night, and then you can take the winter off and go south, really South for the winter. This woman's gardens was the selling point here, no river or great views. Just a clean, grassy space with flowers and WiFi. So while I didn't publish this right away...I did include some Begonias to look ...

some nice pictures with some success but
it is not equipment that will win photograph of the year. You should see some of the cameras that
(novice though they be) individuals were carrying yesterday. Easily ...
