As his English was decent we also asked him if he knew where some items that we needed to buy could be purchased, which he was happy to help out with. When it came time to pay for our meals though, the prices mysteriously did not match any of the ones on the list in the depths of the shop. Unfortunately we didn’t argue enough and paid what was probably double the price, but still relatively cheap at 2 for a large ...

The next day (Monday) the first six groups taught their demo lessons to the group of students – I can’t actually remember all of them now but some were obviously better than others. There was a definite lesson that stood out though, it was really bad in the sense that one person in the duo touched upon a taboo subject in China in quite a bit of detail. We eventually leave this road, and briefly things become a little more pleasant – we feel like we’re in the true countryside around Yangshuo, though we still have to dodge the occasional truck anyway! We continue on and end up back on the road and stop at the river to take a few ...

... for the cooking lesson after. The market is massive with a lot of different foods, most of which I wasn't too sure of what it was. Avoided the chickens feet and pigs penis though, some reason didn't appeal. Savoury cooking is not my thing (but the Chinese are not too fussed on their baking!) But after a few hours I am pretty much a top Chinese chef, even purchased some chopsticks to make my ...
