... Glücklicherweise war das Flugzeug nur halb voll und so konnte ich mich lang machen.
Nach insgesamt ca. 20 Std. Flugzeit und 4 Stunden Aufenthalt in L.A. bin ich um 21:40 Uhr Ortszeit in Papeete gelandet. Ich habe gleich ein Taxi genommen und hab mich ins Hotel fahren lassen. Ich habe auch mit Tom dem Kapitän von der Ketch Karaka telefoniert. Morgen früh werden sie von Morea nach Tahiti kommen um mich abzuholen.

... Just as we approach our door a crab confronts us. He doesn't look pleased to see us. Hardly surprising as he lives under our cottage and it is we who are encroaching on his domain. After a brief stand off he scuttles away muttering unspeakable Polynesian oaths under his breath. Kathleen is concerned he may come in to the cottage. I just can't help thinking he would make a nice crab salad.
