... 14th century as a Hungarian border stronghold, it was Hungarian owned until after WWII. Czorsztyn Castle across the lake was the Polish equivalent.

Having managed one hill, I opted for the river route. We followed the Dunajec downstream on the western bank and soon crossed into Slovakia. What a pleasure to simply cross an international border!
