... second reason was, that one of its beauties, the medieval houses, are not that easy to recognise. For us anyway, there were mainly the old doors and some windows to be seen. The walls are often covered with plaster and the interiors are of course seldom visible. Only at some taverns we could have a look at the interiors. But once one gets to know what one should look for, it did become a nice town

Tallinn in the rain
... the smoked salmon and Evan got the mince beef pancake. Evan managed to eat all of his, whilst I sacrificed some of the pancake bits, but we were both stuffed at the end. All this for the great price of 4 euro’s each!

An unexpected pleasure
... destination and I spent the day doing more wandering around enjoying Tallin and getting myself organised to move on the next day. The dorm was deserted until later that evening when a guy from Cameroon arrived and occupied the bed furthest away from me which I was glad about because he snored!!
So, my first bit of Europe outside of Russia was enjoyable, relaxed and quaint. I met a few nice people and started to get into the groove of being a solo traveller......

Catching Up and Happy Mother's Day
... arrived at the terminal at the appointed
time, all the group but one had transferred to another terminal so we could
take a large ferry that would do the crossing in rough seas. The last group took 2 taxis that followed the
exact same route. One group was charged
17.50 euros and the other charged 40.00 euros.
We then learned that you should ask the cost of the fare prior to
