Happy New Year!!!
I have been in Apollo Bay since the 22nd and finally things are for the most part going really well!! I have some steady work at the bakery and I'm right on the ocean. Christmas was really quite rough though. It felt strange to be alone and I was really homesick and not very happy for a few days. A week stretch of clouds and rain had me wondering …
The tumbling tides of Apollo Bay
Well this is apparently voted the best drive in the world and i can agree with that.
In all it's beauty The Great Ocean itself has taken many lives on ship wreck island due to it's rapid waves which makes for great surfing for the professionals who dare to 'tear it up'! Not for me i thinks i'll sit on the beach and watch and have my …
Shipwreck Coast

We stopped at most of the sights including: Bay of Islands, the Grotto, the Arch, London Bridge (fallen down!), Lord Ard Gorge, Twelve Apostles (6 remaining!) and Gibson Steps. Some of the most spectacular ocean …
Great Ocean Road
Hi everyone! Yesterday we left Templestowe pretty early for a drive down the Great Ocean Road. Ali's cousin Sarah offered to drive us which was really kind of her! 3 hour drive to Lorne where we stopped for a spot of sunbathing and a quick lunch. The weather was pretty good which we were thankful for as we are both petrified of losing our tans!! …

I loved this place, with it's quirkiness. Suited me to a t also. My first night was filled with all sorts a real mix of europeans. And we all just mingled together and got on very well. The couches in the lounge on look the rapid waves crashing on the shore and is a pleasure to sit with a cuppa on a colder day and still be able to be next to the ocean at such a reasonable price. Someone described it as the Hill Billy Experience. I'd agree with that. Definately worth considering a stay here if you like character and that homely feel.
