HELLO! Wow it's been a while - sorry. We've been super busy and have very limited internet access so I have a lot to update on. Sophie and I are now on our own :(, we left the boys on Sunday in Surfers Paradise - they dropped us off at Nerang station on Sunday morning where we got the train up to Brisbane. Last week we spent Monday and Tuesday …

Surfers paradise

A travel blog entry by tracyshawver

We are here at our third spot, Surfers Paradise! It's a lot different from our last spot, it's more of a city by the beach. Reminds me of Miami a bit. There's tons of shops and a huge beach and really really tall high rises. It's a cool spot but I'm glad we aren't here for to much longer because once you've seen it, you've seen it. Plus it's been a …

We arrived in surfers and were taken back by its high rise beach flats and manic town centre....... we now realise it was so busy due to schoolies 30,000 of them!!!!!!!

Our hostel Surf N Sun was a little haven from the screaming kids and up there with some of our favorites. After we had dropped our gear and freshened up we headed out on to …

Surfers Paradise

Hostels in Australia typically do not pay a wage to their staff but rather they just provide full board …

These people often live in beaten up camper vans which are …

The hostel wasn't the best but was ok. We had a private room with shared bathroom but no air conditioning, which was tough as the room got very hot. The staff were friendly and we had free internet thanks to booking with hostel world.
