... this little island after just one night, ready to see somewhere new and experience something different. So just a few hours later we were on a new island, Isla Mujeres. As usual a double room in a hotel with our own bathroom was cheaper that two bunk beds in a 10 bed dorm in the local hostel, so we were happy with that after spending the previous night in a dorm. Livelier than Holbox, Mujeres had a great atmosphere. With a mixture or golf carts, bikes and a few cars as transport ...

... sprawling tourist trap flea market..
Very colourful and interesting, with lets get $$ from the Gringos at every turn..

The leather work was outstanding, most of it hand crafted..
At reasonable prices too after explaining to the vendor that we were Australian and had not much money...

It is rainy season and it has rained every day since we got here, and the forecast said there was 70% chance of rain this evening. The wedding was set to be on the beach as you can see, but there was an alternate location under cover in the resort where it could have been if it ended up raining. There was also ...

... club 3 times, each time being told it was opening in an hour we decided to call it a night, not before belting out a couple songs. I'm gong to say it was lucky we're were singing in a different language, we knew it wasn't pleasant but didn't really care. The next day the only thing we wanted to do was go to the beach. We hadn't swam outside in about 6 months so we caught the bus to the hotel zone - this is where everyone stays for Spring ...

... Los de Pescado (a chain of fish taco restaurants) at 1.30pm. Because it took so long for us to get there we had to leave in plenty of time to get back. We all parked overlooking the Atlantic side of the island where it's windy and the sea is rough. In the restaurant the whole balcony had been booked for us so we could eat together. The food was good and relatively cheap. I find it hilarious that this place puts polythene bags over the plastic plates so there is ...
