      ... stops along the way up: to admire the bride, the "well" for lifting building materials higher up, the bells ........
      From the top we were able to pick out our kitchen window, admire the gargoyles, the vane of St Martin, the Cathedral and the view across Utrecht and countryside. Well worth the climb.
      It lays claim to being the highest church tower in The Netherlands.

      It was also interesting to see that almost all of the houses we passed had a few sheep and lambs, or goats, or maybe ducks and chickens in small yards at the front of the house. It is spring too, so there were lambs everywhere and I also even saw a farmer wearing clogs ("Klompen" in Dutch, best word ever!) it was a really great bus ride and I'm glad we did it.

      ... the fire works and feel the vibe.....it was crazy....60 zillion people there and the new year theme was white masks. We donned our white masks, squished in and waited for the countdown.       Our Free Walking Tour guide Senna summed up Belgium rather well. It's a place to be discovered not just seen. When we walked through yesterday it really wasn't anything special unless you're into gothic architecture.
