We arrived at our first stop, Heidelberg.
Got there quickly and without problems.
The place we stayed is very nice, although it was a bit hard to find, even with 4 navigation devices at our service. :)
They have a Game of Thrones boardgame here, awesome! Want!
Walked about town a bit and had a drink. Very nice place, wouldn't mind living here.

On Thursday was Nikolaus Tag which is a day where a man dressed as Santa Claus comes with his sack and golden book with the Christkind. He reads out each child's name and the naughty and nice things that they've done over the year and awards them with a present. ... been trying to take a photo every day on the tram of the Edingen Water Tower. This tower marks the boundary of Edingen from Weblingen which is the outer village from Heidelberg. I never thought of a country having villages given that Adelaide is such a sprawling metropolis, but with fields separating the settlements there is a physical boundary at least. Anyway today I finally managed to get a good shot given the fast moving tram.
... Germany, Ludwigsbourg is known for its castles and churches and its beautiful Christmas market that starts in December. We ended Evann's trip at a fancy restaurant in Winnenden that overlooked the surrounding towns and I had her try my favorite meal spaetzle (she loved it). It was sad to say good bye at the airport today but cannot wait until we have another European adventure together in the future! ...
... making noise. We escaped the crowds by crossing over the Neckar River and up to the Philosopher's Way which is a famous walking route in Heidelberg.
The road climbs steeply up from the street and it is a wonder how the cars manage to stay put! After a 10 minute climb, we came out at the garden which gives a lovely view of Heidelberg. Unfortunately the light was fading which wasn't great for pictures, but ...
