I've stayed at a ton of hostels over the past few years so I get to be a bit picky. There's nothing wrong with the hostel (except only two bathrooms per floor for 8 or so dorms). But it also doesn't really have any sort of character or attraction besides it's location. Also it would be awesome to have some more ventilation...the rooms get so stuffy! So it's okay. Nothing special.

Amazing location from train station; 30 second walk. Good price. Had a free pasta dinner one night, also served free breakfast. Fair hostel conditions. Floor was really creaky and noisy.

Great location! Nice staff and security! It was weird they didn't have lockers in the rooms! They had some upstairs but it seemed too small for our backpacks anyway! Something else weird was that the TV in the lounge was always turned off! The BF was really nice though!

We stayed there two (not consecutive) nights. Really easy to find from the main train station. Good service and good rooms. The breakfast wasn't perfect, but we got breakfast before they officially served breakfast, so I guess it's really on the plus side.

Day 15: Left Cologne around 10:30 in the morning and headed towards Frankfurt. I stopped for lunch and made another rookie mistake of accidentally leaving the keys in the bike so after I had a pretty sub-average meal, I came back to a dead battery. To give some background information it is about a two and a half hour ride to Frankfurt on the …

When we arrived in Frankfurt we caught a train from the airport to the city. By this stage we had accumulated a bit more luggage than what we started with and we had a large reusable shopping bag as part of our hand luggage. When we picked up our backpacks we put our valuables (camera, bag with passports etc) in this shopping bag so we could carry …

FIrst Stamp in my new passport!

... I just had to walk off the plane, show my passport and collect my bag. I got the very first stamp in my new passport!

Having the train station attached to the airport made everything very convenient for me. I got my Eurail Pass validated, booked by overnight train to Rome and I was all set to go! Arriving at the Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (Main station) brought back some good and maybe not so good memories from following the World Cup in 2006. Ha ha ha ...
