So tired but still perservering

Michelle and I have had another fun filled day. We got to bed around 4:30 am after a night at the pub downstairs. We meet a few people and ended up having a dance off of old school dance styles. Michelle pulled out the sprinkler, the shopping cart, and the cabbage patch.
Those of you who know me know I can't dance my way out of a paper bag, however, I had just enough to drink to pull out all the stops with a moon walk and the John Travolta dance from Saturday night fever.
We did not ge...

Step One - Figure out hosteling in London

I made it to London! And now I'm exhausted! I can hardly make myself type anything else I'm so tired. I usually sleep so easily on planes, but not last night. Considering it is 5:15am in Raleigh and I only managed about 1 hour or so of sleep I think I am just going to have to cut myself some slack. Getting to London from the airport was really easy, except for the fact that it was the morning rush hour and I felt extremely out of place with the working professionals of London. I am feeling mu...

Things I've Learned So Far

So...I started this blog entry a while ago and I wrote a lot...I was going to title it Things I've Learned So Far...but I hadn't decided for sure yet...but now that is definitely the proper title and I'll start with a list of those things: 1. Jet Lag is very tough 2. Cell phones are wonderful tools of communication 3. ALWAYS save your Blog entries along the way I can't remember everything I said...so...I'm sorry if you don't get quite the detail I had wanted to share with you all! On arrival ...

One last London hostel

Brighton is a beautiful city. It was a gorgeous (but cold) day, and I got to see the city a bit. I went to the Pavilion, as well as the lanes, and down to the beach. I saw Brighton Pier from a distance, but didn't go on it. I even sat and had a cup of coffee outside of a cafe while listening to a local artist sing for tips from the crowd. Debra and I were a bit hungry, so before we went to the train station, we decided to go into a pub and have a drink and a bite. It was good, but the clock i...

Jet-lagged in London

Back to grey London. Boy, I miss the California sunshine. Good news though, only about a month until I'm through the 2nd quarter of school. Can't wait. This has been a very tough quarter and I'm looking forward to spending a couple weeks in Ireland for the summer break. Oh, another bit of news, Ross and I finally put a deposit down for our wedding venue and picked a date! We're getting married June 29th 2008 at Summerhill House Hotel, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. It's a lovely little spo...

First day in London was a doozy

Hi everyone back home I am out and on my own now in London and well London has been very interesting to say the least. Well I guess let's start in Glasgow, so I'm outside waiting for the taxi and I was the last to leave the house for the day so I had to lock up, well the taxi was late I've already locked the door....and put the keys through the mail slot so I can't get back in to call the taxi company. So here I am in panic mode abotu to completely flip out thinking I am going to be late and ...

Just as good the second time around

Oh my how I love this city, it's been just as much, if not more the second time around. I basically haven't stopped since I got here last Thursday. Where to begin? Got into the airport and back to my hostel no problem as I am back at St Christopher's and knew exactly how to get there, and I know how to work the Underground system now. Thursday night I ended up going out with Kris Bosch, for those who don't know we graduated together, he dragged me out to gay clubs which was well it was intere...

London blows

Alright, so London doesn't completely blow, but it has been a bit dissappointing. Pubs close at 11:00!! Who would of thought? The English are known as big drink**s but we keep closing down all of these pubs and this isn't as impressive as one might think being so early in the evening. We spent a day walking around Westminst** seeing Big Ben, Parliament, Buckingham Palace, etc. Again, not v**y impressive. One of the most dissappointing things has been that th**e is no roundabout outside of Big...
