Vaporetto, train, bus, plane and metro. Athens here we come. Caught the vaporetto this morning on our last look at Venice. The sun was shining on this lovely corner of the world. As we made our way to the train station up the Grand canal we realised happily that we had covered a very large part of this territory. A travel blog entry by chappys1 on Sep 24, 2014

Arriving back in Athens we had lots of re packing to do. We had left our large bags at the Sofitel Airport Hotel (50m from airport) & just taken our cabin bags out to Santorini & Mykonos. The beach resort had so many friendly people, mainly Aussies and Canadians, with such a relaxed vibe and I now can see how many people go for two nights and then end up staying on for much longer and ...

Finally! We Have Made It To Athens!

... see the other side of the same large building. Next we headed into the public part of the Agora, and got to see many columns and other such things. The biggest treat of the whole experience was getting to see the workshops of the dig, which held what looked like thousands of broken and reconstructed jars and other ancient artifacts such as a skull and large slabs of marble with many inscriptions on them. All of these things Dr. Camp explained how they teach us much about ...
