I've already re-booked to stay here again on my next transit through Bangkok. One of the cleanest guesthouses i have ever stayed in with staff who will go out of their way to help you. Nice and quiet and secure.

As one of the top rated places on Hostelworld and my very first hostel in Asia, I expected this place to be top notch. I'd say they only half delivered.

The hostel is clean, ran by 2 nice woman and the location is good considering it's a short walk from the the (air-conditioned!) BTS SkyTrain, which is convenient for anyone coming from or going to the airport. (However, it is still a bit of a trek requiring transfers) That said, it's a bit far from many other attractions in the city, including the Grand Palace and infamous Khao San Road.

Personally, I think you can spend the same money elsewhere and get much more. I was particularly turned off by the fact that despite spending 450BHT per night, they charge 100BHT extra for a towel and almost double the price for bottled water then the 7-11 which is only a few doors away. At this price, one of the highest I paid in all of Thailand, you would expect more amenities included.

The common room was mediocre at best and the complimentary breakfast will leave you wanting something more/else. While the hostel certainly isn't a poor choice, I expect more of such a highly rated and reviews hostel and I would only book here again if my options were limited.

After JUST waking up in time for our taxi at 05:30 this morning as we both slept through the alarm, we made it to Chiang Mai airport for our 07:00 flight to Bangkok. After the flight we got a taxi to our new hotel, checked in and asked the lady on reception to recommend things to do. We decided to visit one of the temples called Wat Pho. After …

Status: Light Song: Follow the Sun by Xavier Rudd So, It's not the destination, it's the journey...? I'd like to say that I always agree with this but after 31 hours travelling, three plane rides, 17 hours of waiting at airports, about 3 hours sleep total, walking what feels like miles, an eternity waiting in the taxi line and far too long driving …

So my time at Pear's has been pretty similar and so nicely relaxed. I've woken up at 9 everyday to then tutor Pear's cousin Pon until 11:30 we've been completing worksheets and i've got him to read some short stories so I can correct his pronounciation. He's very clever, he's picked up on things very quickly and seems to understand without needing further help with the questions or explanation. I have done workshops with him on nouns, pronouns, possesive adjectives, plural and ...
