While we were writing out postcards in the hotel bar, it occurred to me that I'd gone almost 48 hours without sleeping. Following the travel advice on adapting to a new time zone, I really tried to stay awake until as close to my normal bed time as possible, but it wasn't going to happen, and it was a 7pm bedtime for ...

... fancies and Madeleines with a glass of Demoiselles Grand Cuvée Rose NV £62. A lovely surprise to end our 24 days here. It is a Bank Public Holiday here today, with the very large Notting Hill carnival, that did sound attractive but with wet weather decided to retreat home. A very wet quick walk to Knightsbridge station in heavy rain then our trip home, arriving at 4pm, with light showers for our 5 min ...
