Yellowstone and Grand Teton

A travel blog entry by xcountry-mctrip

I've slacked off on the blog during this trip due to being very tired and I've been spending lots of time in the rain. Today's trip takes me from Dillon, MT to Casper, WY via Yellowstone and Grand Teton National parks. I awoke to a steady drizzle and temps in the low 40's for this leg of my trip. I was tempted to crawl back into the bed but I realized I had to cover 530 miles today and I should get started ASAP. I headed out at 0630 ...

Another Day in Paradise

... here so maybe I can catch up on my Minecraft.

Update: HUGE thunderstorm last night - flooded our camp! We saw a few freaked-out deer trying to run from the rain and hail. It was kind of sad but funny too because they had no idea where to go.....they should have planned better, we could tell that storm was coming for at least an hour before it hit!

Solitude, at 70 mph for miles and miles...

The wind in our face, WIDE OPEN space of acres and acres of desert, only occasionally seeing a car go by, but more often another Harley, we let Crush lead the way. A feeling of freedom and togetherness was only enhanced by Kid Rocks song - "Born Free" being heard through our iPod stereo as we rode. Words can't describe how we felt as one, looking down the road as far as we could see for miles ahead, and nothing but wide open space, desert, on all sides. WOW!

Really Headed Home

... just NW of the Tie Hack Memorial. Lots of grades to climb. I would estimate the engine was down about 20% in power due to the elevation. The temperatures were about 60-65 degrees at that time and elevation. This elevation is the highest we have been on while on this trip while driving or on foot. Car has been running and handling great. No ...
