Jakarta - busy busy busy...

A travel blog entry by patricia.eifler

Jakarta oh Jakarta

A travel blog entry by derekandjo

After a ferry and a 2 and a half hour flight that was with a short stop in Medan we arrived in Jakarta and took a bus from the airport to Gambir station, from there a short taxi ride to our digs Six Degrees, where we are in a 4 pod mixed dorm, clean room and good facilities. Our journey into Jakarta took longer than the flight, the traffic is …

Leaving on a jetplane

A travel blog entry by thomascarlijn

A Day in Jakarta

A travel blog entry by mdemmons

We slept in a little late this morning at Six Degrees hostel in Jakarta. Six Degrees is the main reason we stayed here. When I was in Indonesia last year, I stayed at this very hostel for my last three days to kind of decompress before heading back to Atlanta. I hit it off with the staff here immediately, and I am still friend with them and chat …

Seoul to Jakarta - A Little Tired

A travel blog entry by mdemmons

My day started out at 3am when I was awakened by a couple a level above the hostel screaming at each other. ****.

I have earplugs, but I hate wearing them (they irritate my ears). Unfortunately, I needed to put them in. Even that wasn't enough to block out the noise. For a couple hours, this went on. Eventually culminating in the female …

Six Degrees is an oasis in a busy city, the owners run the hostel and certainly know what they are doing, friendly staff and a very clean building.
The rooms vary from podstyle 4 bed dorms, 8 bed dorms and some doubles, all with shared bathrooms which are spotless and always at least one available. Rooms have aircon and there is a kitchen on 3rd floor for guests to use. Lovely roofgarden and downstairs you have 2 internet facilities, free wifi throughout the building. There is a giant cinema screen and a big tv for dvd,s and normal use. A breakfast of fresh fruit, juice and toast is part of. The package and snacks during the day are available, also free water and 24/7 coffee and tea.
All in all a great budget hostel well worth the money.

THE Place to stay in Jakarta

I can't say enough about the owners of this place. Super friendly people with an awesome cat named Nemo. Everything you've read in the positive comments is 100% correct. Clean, fun, comfortable, friendly, relaxed. I haven't stayed at a lot of hostels in Asia, but I have to believe people when they say this one is the best. From my limited experience (5-6 hostels) I can promise you it's the best Internet connection I've ever had!

Eat at the place directly across the street. Excellent food.

You know you've got a great hostel when IT is the destination itself. I'd come back just to stay here and see everyone again! :-)

Very clean rooms for a good price. Friendly staff and nothing to complain. We would have stayed longer than that one night, but it was full for the second night...
