Well, free travel has been going well until now. It is 11:00pm and we are sitting in a train station, having to catch the 12:19 train to some little place and then switching trains for Vienna, Austria and getting there at 6:00am. We were suppose to be able to take a train at 11:05, that would take us directly to Vienna- we got there in plenty of time, found the platform, but we really needed to more information from someone about the train. Trying to find someone who spoke English was the mos...
Prague, Czech Republic ahill923We left Germany and travelled across the Czech Republic border to Prague. We explored the city and and saw lots of old buildings
Prague, Czech Republic aly_bananaWe explored Prague on tram, looking at the national museum and going to Ferdinandas for lunch
Prague, Czech Republic aly_bananaApril 14- After a 4 hoour train ride through some Austrian/Czech forest and leaving the Danube for the first time on our trip, we pulled into Prague to discover that we had been spoiled by the Euro and people speaking German and now had a whole new culture and language to get to know. The kruny (crown) is 20kc to $1, so after figuring that out and struggling to break our big ATM bills to buy a metro ticket (honestly, after 4 cities of this, I really think there should be somewhere to get chan...
Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic bxbomberbabeYes... ým stýll alive! Travelling from Berlin to Prague was an interesting experience. Watching `western europe` give way to the east... On the train I met a couple of Irish guys who were travelling to Prague just to watch a football game... as soon as we entered the Czech republic the scenery immediately changed. From the flat German plains to a pretty river valley leading all the way to Prague. Hopping off the train I experienced how different Germany is from the Czech Republic. No signs to...

Beware readers; this is a very long blog entry, and it may take a while for those who dare to try and read it all. Sorry all, we got a little overexcited. Hope you enjoy, for those that can be bothered, for those that can't, no offence taken, we probably couldn't be ***** either! Spare a thought for us though, the poor *******s writing it all down....
Leaving Berlin was a sad experience, both of us feeling quite ****** that we had came and seen, b...
Our train ride to Prague from Berlin will probably go down as the most interesting train ride of the whole trip (knock on wood) when we and loads of other people boarded an already full train packed with German kids on their way to some kind of field trip. Since a reservation was not required for this train, there were as many people on the train that could fit. We eventually took a standing room only spot next to our five closest friends(for the next two hours) next to the bathroom in betwee...
Prague, Czech Republic erica"Jet lag is for amateurs!" After we "hit the gorund running," exploring all that Prague has to offer, we are reayd to head to Budapest later tonight! We arrived in prague and made our way relatively stress free to http://www.sirtobys.com hostel. tHe people were nice and sow as the place but it was lacking a certain vibe that would have added to our experience in Praha. We shared a room with some germans, brits, and a couple of americans...from jersey. We put our stuff down and explored the be...
Prague, Czech Republic ethanstoneOur hostel in Prague (Sir Toby's) was the most welcoming and traveller-friendly hostel we've been in. It was also cheap - everything in Prague is cheap. We ate very well and drank good beers and stayed well under budget. And Prague is a lot nicer than I had thought it would be. A lot of the architecture is similar to Paris, but there's a lot more colour. It's a great city to czech out. But I do have one complaint: the weather. It sucked. Rain, cloud, rain, etc. I've already written to the may...
