      Paying for the location

This is an okay place. I've been to better and nicer hostels in other countries, but I was a poor college student so I didn't mind it as much. It is in a great location and Waikiki beach is literally 5 min walk. Only thing I did not like about it is that it's old and is in need of major remodeling.

After some struggling, I have finally managed to get garmin connect to accept my most recent uploads, so it now shows my recent runs as an hour plus on the 4th March, west from seaside avenue in Honolulu, an hour east from seaside avenue at 11.28 on 2nd March, and a coastal run in Auckland at 6.24 on 2nd March. Some day I will look at that and …

The calendar on my blog app is confused, trying to date this entry as 3rd March. I left Dunedin two days ago and had an overnight stay in Auckland. Yesterday I took off in the morning, flew through the day and landed 9 hours later, 9.15 in the evening the day before. Today is yesterday again. Exercise was simple. I got up at 6.15 to get a Sunday …

      Beauty of Yosemite

... of it was a fun place to burn time. We tooled around the old downtown and enjoyed people watching. The next day we decided to wait until night to leave and headed up to the strip for more people watching. We won a whopping $15 and figure we can take at least another year off with our winnings! We originally wanted to do Death Valley but I think we both knew it was too hot for the bus there and this confirmed that. So we headed straight for Yosemite. We ...

... a ladder (the scariest part by far as it's steep and you're right by the cars whizzing by) to get to the arches of the bridge. The climb up the arches takes you as high as 134 meters from the water at the top, but it isn't actually that steep of a climb. Very gradual with small steps. Your guide tells you about the actual building of the bridge in the early 30's -- no safety nets, no rails, and lots of tossing around hot metal rivets. Sounds ...

      Kumasi

Today we left the St. James hotel and Senchi Ferry behind on our way out to Kumasi, the second most populus city in the country. We had an early breakfast at 6:00 am and were in the van by 7:35am. After a four hour drive, we pulled into our hotel. I bargained down the price of the hotel 10 cedi, which made each hotel only 36 a night, using the excuse that we were students volunteering our time in Ghana. The recepionist said, "Well, in return for the discount, you ...
