        ... far from being full of passengers. We are hardly 20 persons in the wagon, most of them old aged people. We chose to be in class R, which means that we will sleep on the bench where we sat all day. This is what we will go through for the next 4 days and 3 nights.

        ... a heritage trail map which took us to some interesting places, and we rode on a CAT bus for part of it – and to see a bit more of the city. Buses are all free in the central zone here. The only thing we weren’t so keen on is that the cars seem to have a lot of priority over the pedestrians at lights; you can wait for ages for a green man then you have hardly any time to cross.

        Well an early start by getting up at 4a for Luke to take us to the domestic airport for a 6 a flight to Melbourne. Had a good flight and a spare seat. Only had an hour to get connecting flight to Auckland, so a bit of a rush but got there with 15 mins to spare. Another good flight but full. Got the yellow bus to the Hotel Grande( near the airport).         ... and continued past the Perth Convention Centre before finding a secluded little island and took a small detour off the guided walk to take some nice pictures of the well kept area.

        Soon enough we made our way back on track and found Jacobs Ladder that the guided walk instructed us to ascend, but what it didn’t inform us was that we would have to dodge almost all of Perth’s health fanatics who clearly didn’t enjoy the privacy of a treadmill or a gym ...
