Savigliano International Hostel Mendoza

My first night in Mendoza I went out for dinner on my own - was feeling a bit lonly as no one was around at the hostel to talk to. Sat down for Pizza and a bottle of wine (for a whole £7 - amazing). Then just infront of me a small Tango school started to show off their skills and get people to dance, so I was treated to a live Tango show whislts eating Pizza and drinking really nice Melbac.

... of the way back. We were also joined for some time by a policeman on a motorbike (though we suspected that this was more to catch up on the local gossip as could hear all of them having a good old chat right behind us)!
When we returned the bikes to Mr. Hugo, he and his wife were in the process of opening numerous bottles of wine for everyone returning bikes. So as not to offend (and partly because no wouldn’t be taken for an answer) we duly obliged and ...

Went to Mendoza to meet Marcela and just walked around the city for 2 days and then done a wine tour on bikes. Mendoza is famous for wine, and even though wine tastes like ****, I done it anyway.

Hired bikes on the wine route and first went to a Museum of wine. Boring. But free wine. Next rode to a chocolate/liquer place which was awesome. Lots of different weird liquers to taste. Stuff like chocolate ...

... of the Andes peaks reaching over 6000m in height. By road, you´ll need about 6 hours to get from one city to the other (depending on the border control). Once you pass the town of Los Andes, the road starts to climb gently towards the east until you reach a wall. ... on an airplane. They come in two forms - semi-cama, which reclines quite far back and cama, which turns into a full bed. They serve non-stop food (it is at least as palatable as airplane food) and drink (including champagne and whisky) on the bus. English language movies (with Spanish subtitles that are great for learning the language) are constantly shown. I would ride several epic bus journeys in Argentina and I never arrived not ...

... The tasting of both wines was much different. The tourguide took the glasses away from Oded and me and had us determine which wine was which. The process was extremal interesting. After the tasting of the melbec from different fields and learning much about wine and its presentation. The tour guide who´s name escapes me allowed both Oded and myself the chance to sample Alto. This is the bodega´s premium wine. The wine costs over 250 Argentine pesos ...

... at the final place from where amber bought a bottle of very nice red and that was enjoyed with lunch the following day. we went and ate at azafran again and tried their steak. it was so good it almost rivalled la cabrera and there was a lot of it. i was very happy. 5 days off the booze for me in mendoza due to stomach pains and upset. the abstinance and rest did the trick (touch wood - much better now) while i was geeting well amber ...

... Heute werden Maria und ich eine Tagestour zu verlassenen Minen machen. Die Fahrt dauert etwa 3 Stunden und fuehrt durch eine tolle Berglandschaft und ueber eine sehr kurvenreiche Strasse. Meine Ohren finden das gar nicht toll und sind total zu. Auch ansonsten geht es mir nicht so toll und ich kann die Tour nicht wirklich geniessen. An der Mine angekommen, werden wir ausgestattet mit Helm und Lampe. Dann geht es in die Mine. Schon der Einstieg ist abenteuerlich. Man ...
