Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam sigurd... doors
- Hygiene in general - sometimes we get nasty-smelling breezes coming at us while we walk
- Pollution and noise created by the excessive number of motorbikes
- Poor road conditions
- Eating dog meat - i know this is also cultural but it's unforgiveable!
- Obsession to take your order as soon as you sit down and open the menu in a restaurant... so much pressure, drove me nuts! It's worse than delivering a project over time and over budget ...
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam bebabui... centre averaging about 600kms a day. 5 days driving in total. We managed to catch up with Mary Dietman on our last night which was excellent. Lovely to see Mary after such a long time.
We really enjoyed our camper. It works well for us even though it's a bit of a squeeze. The mobile and broadband reception was amazing. It was quite weird receiving calls and sending emails whilst in the desert. It seemed to work as long as we were within about 25kms of a ...
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam wendydean... made to measure smart leather shoes for under 18 quid. All you had to do was pick the style you wanted from the current edition of the NEXT catalogue, and after drawing round your foot on a piece of paper, they were ready to collect the next day. Awesome. I had intended to meet the man who made my shoes (how cool does that sound?!) but due to a breakdown in communication i.e. me not speaking Vietnames and them not speaking English, it didn't happen.
I ...

Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam chudu24... were sleeping on their boats around 10am and then passed them at the end of the tour around 3.30pm, both were still partially unconscious in their hammocks. They could have gone out and come back but the old women rowing us were so damn slow it made it hard to tell.

Night time in Saigon was as busy as the day time but with lots more hookers ...
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam peroberts... whilst everyone else was downstairs. Luckily a couple from Amsterdam came up and asked to join us and then a Swiss guy and Vietnames girl joined us too. Lunch was really nice but definitely the VIP treatment. At the ended of the day we ended up with the email address of the Amsterdam couple to visit when in Europe later in the year.

The Cu Chi tunnels were amazing. Can't believe people lived in there. Li lead us in ...
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam lukeandjen... crimes musuem is an uncensored and graphic look into the fall out of the vietnam war. The images were so disturbing it made your stomach turn. The photos of the deformed victims of agent orange, the chemical warfare used on the vietnemese, hit home the hardest. It may seem inappropriate but i took photos of these images as i think most of us think out of sight out of mind...

- that night we all hit the karoeke bar after a buffet with traditional vietnesmese and ...
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam wilkdogs... elite must have co-ordinated affairs in the past. This was also the first time we witnessed carpet in use in Southeast Asia, definitely a memorable experience. Towards the end of the tour, we got to explore the basement and network of underground tunnels. It seems all of the military activity was co-ordinated here, and lots of relics such as the original radio transmitors are preserved in their full glory. It was definitely like stepping back ...
