I had a really lazy day today to catch my breath and organise myself. Michael wanted to work on his car at Masshommel, so Bruno went to give him a hand but I opted to stay here at the flat. Lots of washing to do, and the machine is a front loader which takes two hours for every wash, so last load didn't finish until six. Things dry very quickly here. Must be the dry air. ... air roller coaster-style and shouting "WAHOOOOOOOO!", but thought the other passengers may not appreciate it too much. The journey to Schiphol was only 50 minutes long, and as I was talking to the couple next to me for a lot of it, the time seemed to fly by (excuse the pun!) Bearing in mind, it was very dark by now, not even 5pm yet, and ...

We walked over Eramus Brug, before decided to just turn around and walk back as neither of us where that bothered about seeing "Mini Manhattan" as it's referred to, on the other side of the river from Central Rotterdam. Then we walked langs het water (alongside the water), ...

A Day in Amsterdam and travelling the Netherlands

A travel blog entry by cess07 on May 26, 2013

... wear the jumper and scarf. I eventually make my way back to the hostel, get my bag out of the locker, and call for a cab. All the staff at the hostel were extremely friendly and helpful, and thankfully most people speak very good English in Amsterdam. Even though my ferry doesn't leave until 9.30pm I decide to start to make my way there later in the afternoon to allow for any unforeseen travel delays and language barriers. The taxi takes me to the ...
