This morning is spent shopping for ski gear and uploading a few photos. The computers are as slow as Christmas so its a bit frustrating! To destress from the internet cafe we take a tandem reveres-bungy swing. Its not quiet the same as a bungy jump, as in this case you are seated and are swung up into the air at 120mph. Excellent fun. Because I stayed 2 days at National Park I got a new bus driver today and it took us 6 hours to get to Wellington which was ridiculous. I ran into my Italian friend Nico back on it though which was good and met some new people - Martin from Germany and Carlos from Spain (again good practice especially as his English wasn't 100%). We booked ourselves into a different hostel in Wellington from the rest of the bus as I'd got the impression that in the big towns they put you in dirty ****** place...

8 flats down and still no joy! We've had 3 offers, one was short-term only for 5 weeks which doesn't really help us, one was a massive old house with 10 bedrooms and bascically available to anyone who could afford the extremely high prices (we couldn't) and one, although it had a spa, had no oven and freezer. It was with much sadness that we made our way to the ferry terminal to cross over to the north island. The south really is a beautiful place and there is so much to see and do. Best of all, only one million of the four million population live there so you get a real feeling of remoteness in a lot of places. For such a small country, there really is a lot of diversity.
