... good, but the girl in the red who dusted those 5 beers in 5 minutes was still shotgunning beers 5 hours later. Dooze and I crowned her the people's champion.

We were fortunate enough to meet this beast after the competition and she was completely coherent... Seriously. Unbelievable. Her name turned out to be Julie, but we still only refer to her as beast. The guy was crazy at Manon chocolate. He was just like willy wonka. He showed us how he made his chocolate and let us try many pralines. People got to help make some. He did fun magic tricks and gave us a free bag of pralines. I also bought a champagne praline that was very ...

... utterly tasteless. Ugh. On the train we met a lady who had lived in Germany for the past eight years or so working for the military, and she seemed really happy to be leaving for the United States soon. She actually seemed very bitter and kind of crushed and hopeless, and I felt like she'd be an unpleasant person to be around for a long time.

We rode to Leuven, Belgium, where we got off the train and walked to our next hostel. The street ...
