When in Rome...
Our must see list in Rome included Vatican City; the Colloseum, Roman Forum, Pallatine Hill, Spanish steps, and the Trevi Fountain. When we arrived saturday, we learned that the Vatican was closed on sundays, so we rushed straight to Vatican City. Once inside the Popes independent country, we began our tour in the Vatican Museum. It holds many …
Rome
Written on Sunday October 31st (Mom's Birthday! ...and Halloween):
So my first impression of Rome can be summarized in two words: garbage and graffiti. That said, our hostel was in the grungy university area east of the historic centre, but the theme persisted no matter where we went, even if to a lesser extent. A couple other notes before …
First nite in Rome

First sight was the Colloseum and the old city. We walked to the local …

I have to say. This plac was very cheap. The people who work there are great and the communal kitchen served as an awesome ice-breaker point for meeting people and trading stories/movies suggestions. It's a bit out of the way but pretty close to both the subway and Termini. Cool.
