... place. From Bibury we drove through Bourton on the water and on to Stow on the Wold. The area is lovely with beautiful views of the countryside We enjoyed the drive along the narrow lines, high hedges lined the road and the hedgerows were full of cow parsley and buttercups. After another great meal we enjoyed local cheeses with a slice of Mary's Bara Brith, we have really appreciated this generous hospitality but tomorrow we move ...

After taking our leave of Geoff, we had a message from Christine and Russell, also old friends, that they were both free due to the rain and so we spent a lovely afternoon talking with them about our recent tour and other news. We headed ...

Stonehenge, Bath and Hampton court palace

A travel blog entry by mareelangdon on Jun 16, 2014

... and the commentary from our guide Emily was fabulous. Our first stop was Hampton Court Palace, the home of Henry Vlll so lots of things were from the 1600's, beautiful tapestries, lovely gardens and very ornate with painted walls and ceilings. Second stop was Stonehenge, an amazing place that has an interesting feel about it. A lot bigger than l expected and intriguing how the pillars align at ...
