This hostel was incredible. I stayed here for three nights. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The beds, bathrooms, and showers were very clean. The other travelers were some of the greatest characters I have ever met traveling. Was a little more expensive than other hostels but totally worth the few extra Rais for the location and friendly staff. Also, breakfast each morning was delicious. Would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Rio.

Sun 7th sep Packed up and checked out of our hotel in Copacabana at 11:30am. Walked to ipanema and checked into the 'ipanema beach hostel'. £30 a night each for a dorm room! It does include breakfast and does have air con and a small pool but still, gives an idea of how expensive it is here. Dumped our stuff then went to the beach for a few …

... great graffiti paintings. Went out to Copacabana yest, which is a bit seedier than what I imagined it would be, the beach is beautiful, and huge!, like 4.5km long. But yo~´re constantly being hassled by guys selling everything from beach balls, buckets, towels, every kind of beach wear imaginable, as well as lots of different kinds of food and drink (they even sell shrimp), and even paintings. Its a horrible job, walking up and down that beach all day in 35c heat! Went down ...
