Rarotonga, beach-bumming & snorkeling, 10 nights
The capital island in the Cooks, Rarotonga, was a very chilled out place. There's not much happening here, besides lazying at the beach (west coast) or snorkkeling in the lagoon (east and south coast). There's only one main road around the island (32km) and the speed limit is a slow 50 kmh. The beaches on the east coast are beautiful, with nothing …
Time travel to the Cook Islands
My flight from Auckland was not until the afternoon so I spent the day browsing shops with shoes and designer outfits that were too expensive for me to buy. But I did manage to find a coffee shop that offered a free muffin if I bought a coffee, deal done!
I went in search of a bikini, no-one was selling swimming cozzies as it's out of …

All Cook Islands in a day
O dia perfeito.

yes it was cheap, but it had no atmosphere to it. Although please note that there was not many people around so if you are going with a group it will be better for you.
I stayed in the dorm room which was dingy, but the bed was comfy enough.
The kitchen is not greatly equipped. The lounge area 'feels' dirty and not a place to hang out in the evenings.
The pool is a bonus.
The showers are cold.
You have to buy or boil water, whereas at the main backpackers down the hill they have filtered water on tap. They also have a pool and is right on the beach. I hadn't seem the rooms but the kitchen and the living area weren't particulalry inviting.
I would recommend finding somewhere else to stay if you can possibly afford a bit more, or hire a bike so that you can explore the other beaches on the island which are more beautiful.
