Cozy hostel, good atmosphere. It's a great place to come back to after a long day hiking. They offer food and have bar, which is nice. The rooms and bathrooms are kept clean as well. Since it was high season, it was a little on the expensive side for a hostel (but it's nicer than most). Also, the internet is really slow and you pay to use the computers.

Very warm and cosy, however you do need to be thin to use the toilet.

We were fairly disappointed with the hostel. Its really huge and can fit well over 150 people and has only one very small kitchen and three semi working small fridges. Breakfast isnt included and the showers kind of work. In the evening youre lucky if you get a small stream of water and forget about hot water...Not worth the money!

DAY 1 - After a well needed sleep, we got up around 10am. As breakfast was not included, we went across the street to a mini-supermarket (Mercadito) and bought bread and jam for breakfast and ham and cheese to make sandwiches for our hike (Gem put her foot down and said no more salami!). We decided to go up to Lago de las Tres to see the Fitzroy …

If we thought we were in the wild wild west before, we know we are now. We were commenting on this just after we arrived then I looked at my feet to the big rock I had been absentmindedly kicking and I realised it was a sheep skull! El Calafate is a small town in the middle of Los Glaciers National Park with a dramatic backdrop; a few hostels, …
