    Marrakech: Last Night in Morocco

    ***under construction***

Got 1st class tix. had compartment to ourselves for awhile--laid down & slept. In Meknes 2 others came in.

Nice driver took us to the Cottages. Difficult to find, but he was very nice.

Got in our cottage, Sylvain showed us around. Went to the pool.

Laid down, not feeling well. A/C not working. Sylvain couldn't get it to work, so we moved to another cottage.

    Dinner: chicken & couscous--delish.

Our host asked if I wanted him to get our train tickets for the 31st. He said because of Ramadan, the tickets might go quickly. So, of course, I said yes. I found out that only ...

... mint tea and cookies. Our host went through some hot tips/things to know, asked what we wanted to do, etc. He is going to arrange a day tour out to the Ourika Valley that will include visiting a Berber village and house, an Argan oil cooperative, carpet cooperative, camel riding, and maybe the some waterfalls.

He also took my French phone and had it unlocked so it would work here in Morocco, plus put some time on it for me. Our room was being cleaned, so ...

... exorbitant, not to mention it was still in the 90's during the day in that mountain area and I am on vacation...And my past experience in the Middle East might be a factor in thinking I've spent enough time... So thanks to European budget airlines, for a cheap flight to Paris where I'll spend a few days, see Normandy, visit a buddy in Lyon, and hit a few places in Rome before catching a flight to Ethiopia for the next leg of the ...
