Re...

Ok! This town is not Kingston, Jamaica but could be!!! Everyone speaks broken english just like Jamaican and greets you with no exception. If you don`t reply the greeting the guy just chase and stops you for greeting again. The beaches aren`t so great but the Siete Templos waterfalls definitively worth the efforts!

Some like it hot

Having spent far too much time in one place, it was time to get rolling again. Hopping on a shuttle bus to the unusually organised, volcano-clad city of Antigua, we were looking forward to doing a little hiking, maybe see some of the hot stuff. What we got was so much more than we expected! _ Tim in Antigua, Guatemala. _ Heading back down the same road that we saw the chicken bus crash, Nathalie, Chris and I are reminded not to be sitting within half a dozen rows of the front, except there's ...

... cafe, but it was good, since after rain we got to see the Volcan de Agua for the first time and the rain made everyone to run for shelter, so the streets were all empty. Since the main avenue is closed during the weekends, they had placed carts with flowers. So it all looked like if we were in a movie set. Very beautiful.

We went back to the hostel to get ready for the next day that we're going to Pacaya volcano to see some lava! So exciting!

... the brakes and the engine. Chicken-bus accidents and breakdowns are all too common. It takes two people to drive a chicken-bus. One to take the wheel, and another to hang on to the open door calling out the abbreviated destinations in a sing-song voice..."Guate, Guate, Guate"...is what you here from the many buses destined for Guatemala city. The conductor swings from the open door calling out, and jumping off at every ...

... the bus was just as exciting sitting next to our man Dan from 'Nam as he enlightened Brad with some more stories. One in particular was about how he had hurt his hand a few weeks ago and couldn't zip up his own pants(???)...followed shortly by the story of his childhood science fair where he built a volcano...."he couldn't zip up his own pants but he built a volcano"...friends of Brian Regan I kid you not. Brad had to do everything in his power not to burst out laughing. Then we left.
