Hola! I´m sorry for not writing anything for so long, but honestly there hasn´t been much to write! After my last day of course I went to a Boca juniors match (vs. Newells Old boys) which they LOST! 0-2 to be exact:S Other than that it was definately an experience. We had standing places, in the blistering sun, with sooo mny people around us, I almost fainted because of the heat! It was 36 degrees... Anywaysz, definately very happy that I went :) At that point I had already decided that I was...
Puerto Madryn, Argentina aishwaryaYes! I know, 2 blogs in a row, it´s amazing:p Today I visited Punta Tombo, the penguin reserve... It´s a must-see for everyone! We set of at 8 in the morning and first went to this tiny little port town called Rawson. There wasn´t much to see, but had brunch sitting by the sea, and it is a very typical Argentine village:) When we were about to leave however, the car stopped working! So spent another hour waiting for it to be fixed:P Finally we were of again though! Punta tombo is about 200 or...
Puerto Madryn, Argentina alezgHola amigos! We've been almost too busy to blog lately, which I suppose is actually a good sign, but means this update is super chockful of adventures and loaded with photos (and a double haiku to start)! Tucked in the Andes Bron gets back to her roots with Cake, cake, and more cake. Then out to the coast New friends to share cake with, plus Penguins! Penguins! Whales! After our vigorous biking and hiking in Bariloche, we thought we'd take it easy for a while and find somewhere to relax. Ima...
Puerto Madryn, Patagonia, Argentina bron_and_eliWe were glad to get to Puerto Madryn, formally a welsh town that grew up as the main whaling port in Patagonia. Glad to get here as we planned to chill here for a while as we had been doing a lot of travelling recently and were very deprived of sleep. Staying in the comfort of a hostel was our main priority that night and eating something different to ham and cheese sandwiches, as all they seem to eat here and that´s all they sell at bus stations. Discovering a camp site 5km from town was goi...
Puerto Madryn, Argentina jamiecaroline Puerto Madryn was also going to be about animals and it didn´t disappoint. The first day was made up of a tour around Peninsula Valdes. This started with a whale watching tour - it was wicked to see the whales so close. We followed a mother with it´s calf for the hour and got lucky when it breached about 5 metres from the boat - did **** it when it looked as if it was goiong to land on us for a second!
Next we went to see the Elephant seals who, as far as I can work out, go out ot sea ...

... excuse to go and have breakfast (at which, through miscommunication, we got given cheese and ham toasties. I actually ate mine cos I was starving and didn´t have time to order anything else. Pleased to report I didn´t puke all over the table cos the cheese was tasteless, but the world as I know it has still changed forever [anyone who knows me will know I hate all things cheese with a passion, big milestone moment in the life of Lorraine]). Anyway, we headed back ...
Puerto Madryn, Patagonia, Argentina briandlorraine... a book about the voyages of the Beagle, the surveying vessel that took Darwin to the Galapagos and around the world, and also discovered the Beagle Channel, under the leadership of Captain Robert FitzRoy. Unfortunately the town had none of his charm. I looked at the rooms in a hostel and they were so dismal that I decided to keep going, something I don't usually do. the next 30 miles took me an hour, because of the wind. I ...
Puerto Madryn, Patagonia, Argentina bocalee... and local biscuit/ cake thing (they are about the diameter of rich tea biscuit but like Wagon-wheels inside). Later in the evening (in between movies) there was an alternative bit of ´inbus´ entertainment in the form of Bingo. Despite fretting that we hadn´t understood the rules (it was all in Spanish) and the fact that we were trying to catch the numbers, I was torn between wanting to win and shout ´bingo´, and worrying that we would annoy ...
