Cuesta de Escoriaza 10 Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands, 18008
I had to take three weeks of an intensive class. That was the first thing I had to do here in regards to school anyways. And we had to test into these intensive classes, so the first day I think, or the second or something, we had to get up pretty early and get to the school building for this test, cause it would determine what level we were at....

Hello everyone! Hope all is well and many thanks for your comments; they really make my day!
Granada has been a blast so far! Unfortunately I caught a cold the day after I arrived.. :/ Finally it is starting to go away! I went to one of the pharmacies here and picked up this mysterious orange powder that I had to mix into som...
So Flamenco is pretty big in Granada. Apparently it originated in the South of Spain, and this is really the only region where you can find an authentic show.
Ana Maria, our director, took us all to a show on Wednesday night. She met us at the bus stop with flowers for all the girls to wear in their hair. How Spanish! We hopped on the ...
So my blog has been pretty dormant for the past few days; that is because nothing exciting has happened.
It has been a rough week emotionally for me for a couple of reasons. Even though I can get myself around using Spanish, I am not fluent. I have been able to hold basic conversations with people, but when it comes to important things...
This weekend I went on an excursion to Granada with the study abroad group that I am with back from the states. I didn´t necessarily want my first visit to Granada to be with the group, but it´s all good. Granada is about 135km from Malaga or an hour and a half by bus. The first thing I noticed on the bus ride was that above and outside of Malag...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands skivail89So far, Spain has been amazing. Our residence hall is very pretty complete with traditional Spanish tiles and marble floors. The rooms are not huge but we have our own bathroom with a shower and its very comfortable. The only problem is that the wall mount for the shower head is broken so we have to hold the shower head while we try and shampoo ...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands mrg8920The bus ride home was terrible. My body was sore, the bus was cramped and we didn't get home until 7am the next morning. We slept late into the afternoon on Sunday. I ran up into town to check the train schedule, I was going to Spain on a little incognito trip for three nights. I had to catch a 2:30 flight out of Bologna on Monday, and wanted...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands mavsqb1before i left on this trip, i spoke with several people back home who made the (serious) suggestion that i should go to the tanning bed and dye my hair black before leaving for egypt. others recommended that i sew a patch with the canadian flag onto my backpack. first of all, i think that getting a tan and dying my hair black would make me loo...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands stereognosticFor some really odd reason, or lack of, the only thing I really remember about the first time I visited Barcelona is the post office near the waterfront, and Scott vividly remembers Las Ramblas. Imagine our surprise then when we finally arrived in this strange and amazing city to really discover it. First of all, the weather was incredible, sunn...
Granada, Spain canaussie
Essaouira was a wonderful place of whitewashed houses, blue doors, and fabulously cool temperatures. Beth and Casey hoarded many pretty seashells from the beach, and all enjoyed the camel ride on the beach at sunset (Lou says "How much more romantic can you get?") We were sad to leave the nice hostel we had there, but alas, there was more to see...
