... due to its age.
As we walked through the market, we went by a park that had a bunch of those battery-operated cars that little kids can drive. They were just sitting there.... waiting to be used.
Camden and Hallie would have been in heaven!
After the market, we visited some absolutely beautiful churches in Puebla. Wow. They were so beautiful. One of the churches that we visited was of Saint Francisco. I felt a little obtrusive taking pictures of the ...
... issue or the other. The issues were fairly simple and designed for young children: Do you help around the house? Do you like to be active?
We first arrived at the school, called La Ciudad de los Hereos (The City of the Heroes) and were greeted by the popular cartoon characters I mentioned in my last post. They serve as role models for children. We met our helper and aid, Juan Carlos, and went into our classroom. It was a colorful classroom with bean bags ...
... Europe - songs by ABBA, Queen, and songs in Finnish, Dutch and Swedish! It's going to be great :)
Some members of our group have a great presentation today about the environment. We learned about different types of energy and which countries specialize in each type. Then the group issued a challenge to our cast involving food waste and consumption.
First, our cast is going to try to reduce our food waste. For example there were over 10 uneaten lunches today. All of that ...
... woke up that arvo to grab some food, to hear the loudest, most disturbing moans coming from the room at the other end of the corridor! This is when we realised we were staying in a hore house! We decided to get some fresh air and walked the streets, booked our bus tickets and pretty much just watch the time tick by for our next adventure.

Whilst here I stayed at Hotel Reforma 2000, 4 Poniente No. 916, on the corner of 11 Norte, Tel. 01 (222) 242 3363, Web: www.hotelreforma2000.com . Their current rates were 200, 250 peso for 1 or 2 persons and 350 + 400 peso for 2, 3 or 4 persons in a room with 2 double beds. This good value budget hotel is set over 3 floors around a pleasant colonial style courtyard. The carpeted rooms with en-suite and cable ...
... 1571 and 1611. Although the exterior is dark stone the interior is very ornate with gilded stucco. The Rosary Chapel, built in1690, dazzles with gold leaf and beautiful onyx. It is an excellent example of Mexican Baroque. Unfortunately the Chapel was undergoing restoration and we could only peak through the barred entrance. From the historic center of the city we leapt into today and a very ...
Puebla, Mexico kbramblings... habbitat, but here they were laying right beside the road, no joke, like 10 feet from the bus. I got some really good pictures of them, one of a lion with a big mane is amazing...possibly my favorite picture of the trip. Through most of the safari we could have the windows of the bus open but in some sections (like the loins) we had to close them. (I took LOTS of pictures with both my and Lili's camera (she let me borrow hers since we are not sure what is ...
Puebla, Mexico kimbutterfly15... snacks, etc). We went to one with hardwear items, but they did not have duct tape, but she reccomended the next similar store down the road...so we went there, as we were walking he said to me, we could be at this all day...they say "no, try the next....no, try the next" and before we know it we are in the next town or even at your home in the US...I found this very funny, but it was also very possibly true! Anyway, the next place had it and we haeded back ...
Puebla, Mexico kimbutterfly15... at the stars when we are in the forest area where it’s dark. We took a cab from the Puebla station to Pollo’s grandpa house. Pollo’s mom was there as well and she seemed to be a nice lady, though she doesn’t speak English. We had hot chocolate. I slept on the floor next to Mom and Janet’s bed.
Puebla, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico astre... a cave. It was pretty awful, but not dubbed in Spanish, so I was all for it. I wandered (ie got extremely lost) around Taxco for several hours checking out the silver and comparing prices. Everything is done by weight here, so itīs very much on the up and up. I had an overpriced lunch, but it included vegetables, so it was pretty much worth it. Then off for more shopping! I bought a few pieces, and then decided it was ...
