We had a private room that was just renovated! The facilities were amazing. Location is perfect! Only down fall in the air conditioning, which barely worked. But other than that, it was a great place to stay on a budget!

For having never before stayed in a Hostel, I was satisfied with my experience. While I thought it to be slightly over priced (at the end of Aug) now that I see what other Hostels actually cost in Europe, I don't regret staying here. The rooms were clean and the view was spectacular! Who could complain about being able to see the Duomo from outside their window or from the rooftop bar. It was a fabulous first experience in Florence.

We stayed at Fish Hostel which was incredible. We did pay 20.00 euro each a night which wasn't easy to swallow, especially coming towards the end of the eurotrip, but with a pool, massive bar, sauna, awesome restaurant and amazing rooms you really good go no further.

We started our trip in Florence by rolling in with the bus to Piazza Michaelangelo, a square at the top of a hill that overlooks the whole city (it's also home to 1 of two fake David statues!). We took some standard Florence snaps, and made our way to the hostel where Ross and Lindsey and our other camp friend, Bessie, were already waiting. Once we …

What a way to start July, climbing a total of 877 stairs. As normal we were up bright and early, because of the sun and headed down for coffee and a croissant. We planned to get a $10 enter ticket that let us into the bell tower, Baptistery, up the dome and underneath the Cathedral.

We started at the bell tower that had 414 stairs. Plus it …

I have been in Pisa for almost 24 hours and figured that it was time to catch up on my blog. Yesterday, I took the train from Florence to Pisa. Before, leaving the Florence hostel, I found a good book to read. Yesterday, I read all day and relaxed. I needed a break from touring around. And my knees needed to rest. No stairs, towers or hills. Today …

The hostel that we stayed at in Florence was awesome.

Had a pool with a good deal on bucket cocktails which were filled with alcohol but tasty.

One of the nights that you don't plan to drink but end up doing it anyway.

Kind of funny considering the Chris the Tour Guide told us that if there was one night on the tour to …

          The Italian Heatwave continues

... The Italians have a strange culture - it is every man, woman and child for themselves, on land, sea and especially on the road. We saw people in wheelchairs and with guide dogs shoved out of the way. The first day in Venice was on the main island and it was so crowded it was hard to really enjoy it. The second day we went by water bus out to the outer islands and this was much better, although the gondola ride on the first day was very special, if expensive. We ...

I've had so many more experiences, random and normal, and I have been so happy it almost doesn't seem fair. I miss you all, but I wouldn't change this for the world. I love the stories I've accumulated, and thank you for reading them and sharing in my joy. Stay tuned for a Dello entry and pictures to accompany this one!
