We had a private room that was just renovated! The facilities were amazing. Location is perfect! Only down fall in the air conditioning, which barely worked. But other than that, it was a great place to stay on a budget!

    First Night In Florence

For having never before stayed in a Hostel, I was satisfied with my experience. While I thought it to be slightly over priced (at the end of Aug) now that I see what other Hostels actually cost in Europe, I don't regret staying here. The rooms were clean and the view was spectacular! Who could complain about being able to see the Duomo from outside their window or from the rooftop bar. It was a fabulous first experience in Florence.

We stayed at Fish Hostel which was incredible. We did pay 20.00 euro each a night which wasn't easy to swallow, especially coming towards the end of the eurotrip, but with a pool, massive bar, sauna, awesome restaurant and amazing rooms you really good go no further.

    Final day spent in Florence

As it’s our last full day away today we were both feeling a bit rubbish about having to go home to reality and so we had a fairly relaxed start to the day. We spent the majority of the morning sorting out our backpacks and re-packing ready for our flights tomorrow, before venturing out into the sweltering heat. We were both getting hungry so …

I woke fairly early this morning after a terrible nights sleep. Sophie had woken me with her screaming yet again throughout the night and I just couldn't settle properly as it was so hot, loud and light in our room. Neither of us were feeling particularly energetic by morning and didn't feel like venturing out so we paid for breakfast at the hostel …

Last train journey of our trip

A travel blog entry by emmafox17 on Jun 28, 2015

We were up bright and early this morning as we had to catch the train from Venice to Florence. We didn't fancy trying to negotiate our way back to the train station as it went so disastrously wrong the first time around so we decided to get a shuttle bus. The bus driver guy was early picking us up so I had to down the yogurt I'd just opened, to …

What a way to start July, climbing a total of 877 stairs. As normal we were up bright and early, because of the sun and headed down for coffee and a corssiant. We planned to get a $10 enter ticket that let us into the bell tower, Baptistery, up the dome and underneath the Cathedral.

We started at the bell tower that had 414 stairs. Plus it …

    Last train :(

A travel blog entry by s-ashmore-hayes on Jun 28, 2015

Today was our last train of the trip (boooo!!!) Thankfully, we'd booked the shuttle to the station last night, making the whole morning run much smoother, and enabled us to eat our breakfast in plenty of time at the station.
Once on the train, it took just under 2 hours to reach Florence, and amazingly, we managed to find the hostel fairly …
