Plovdiv is a cool town! It has been designated as one of two European Capitals of Culture for 2019. Today we walked around old town with our group: went into the Ethnographic Museum, another Orthodox Church, and an example of a house of a rich merchant. Of course there are Roman ruins here! ... Itsy Bitsy Yellow Polka Dot Bikini"! Then we had to sing it to them! Finally, they gave us each a vial of rose oil. We took a tour of the school and had some Q & A time with a teacher. Such a wonderful experience!!! Both Mom and I got a little teary! Stefan brought a bag of toys for the kids, and Uncle Rick donated some money to the school. So much brain work necessitated a beer and salad, so stopped for lunch. Jerry joined us for a while and then set off on his own again. We went to an old Bulgarian house Ned...???, another museum and another coffee. Exhausting, but now feel we have 'done' Plovdiv.

Back for a rest and to see Jerry in our apartment, and then out for dinner with Aly ...
