Warm beds in old colonial building

On first impressions this place looks tired. It is old though & I think this adds to its charms. The beds were really warm & they provided oil heaters to take the chill out of the overnight air. There is a large communal lounge/dning room & a kitchen for you to be able to cook your own meals if you want. As Uyuni is all overpriced pizza/pasta places I would recommend the cooking option! A basic breakfast is also provided. The hostel is located right on the square so really central.

Great hostal....very organized hostel. It is clean. The wifi is strong. There are communal areas outside and in, with a TV and DVD player. There is a communal kitchen. The beds were extremely comfortable and warm with fleece blankets. This hostal is right on the plaza close to everything you need, including restaurants, tour offices and the central mercado.

Probably the best hostel in Uyuni

Beds are large and comfortable. Hostel is warm. Showers are hot. This may not seem like much but for Uyuni this is actually a miracle! Other than that there's no wifi but thats pretty much the case in the entire town. even the internet cafe's have dodgy connection. WOuld recommend.

Very good located on the center and very close to the train station. 7 mins walk from the buses. Beds a bit old but with good linen, breakfast ok, but not very kind served, when it rains, it rains also in the rooms.

The Magical Bolivian Desert

We arrived in Uyuni on Saturday by way of a newly paved road from Potosí. This ride, three years so would have taken six hours, but we made it in a hair raising three, with this Bolivian driver taking every mountain switchback at consistent speeds, namely fast, and we were thankful for the guide rails, even as bags from the overhead …

Uyuni, a must stop place for anyone doing the salt flat tours. You have no choice really to stay here for at least a night. Uyuni is an old town that has seen much better days. I feel that if the ever increasing tourist industry for the Salt Flat tours wasn't here I think this town would have died. …

Adventure into nowhere

... the Salar de Uyuni is on so many people's bucket lists, it's a truly breathtaking place, ever so simple but stunningly beautiful at the same time. It feels like your in a dream, where you find your inner self wandering into the clear landscape that envelopes everything around it. Until you see it for real, it's a place that you think wouldn't exist on this planet. But it does, its out there right now looking even more beautiful than it does on our photos. It makes you wonder what else is out ...
