A travel blog entry from London by clayman295Only have 4 minutes to post before my internet time runs out (only had one pound coin in my pocket), BUT briefly, my plane was delayed in Seattle, so even though I took off at 2:30 from P-town, I didn't take off from Seattle till 9:45. As always, couldn't sleep very well on the plane, but met a cool guy from Samoa and a cool girl from Dublin whi...
A travel blog entry from London by davidrapozaSecond day in London! Today, I was actually able to see some of the city. Took one of those big red double-decker tour buses. Yeah, it was touristy...but I was able to see a lot of the town, despite heavy London traffic. But I'm getting ahead of myself... So, I'm staying at the Piccadilly Backpackers hostel, and despite some rather nasty reviews...
A travel blog entry from London by davidrapozasoooooo, day one abroad: The first night in London was a little rough, as I am sure you have just read. So, I decided that it would be wise to put some ear plugs in and get some shut eye ASAP. I stuffed in the ear plugs, set the alarm, curled up in my bunk bed, and dozed off quickly--only to be awaken the next morning at 11am (one hour after che...
A travel blog entry from London by mariaapalermoJust a quick entry because I want to fit the London Eye in before I meet a friend for dinner. I am having a wonderful time traveling so far. I was in Edinburgh for 2 nights/3 days and will be here in London for a total of 3 nights/4 days. The hostel in Edinburgh was fabulous. The hostel here in London is the worst I've ever been to in my life. T...
A travel blog entry from London by slsWe made it to London!! It was very hard leaving Lisa today! But after a week with her showing us around and being our personal tour guide, it was time to go out on our own! We rode a bus from Manchester to London....a long ride-about 5 hours! We arrived and found our hostel with little problem. We are getting very good a map reading and problem ...
A travel blog entry from London by tanarae01Today we explored London and WOW!! We decided to take a free walking tour and it turned out to be a really great experience! Dale and Stuart (our roommates at the hostel) reccommended it after we told them we were going to take a bus tour. We saw so many really amazing things!! We started out at the Wellington Arch and walked to Buckingham Palac...

A travel blog entry from London by teliuFirst things first, Happy Birthday Ruth!! After going at Formula 1-like pace for the last two days, we decided we needed to slow things down a little today. We snailed out of bed a bit before 9:00 am, went to the local bakery to pick up a fresh baguette and then enjoyed a breakfast of cheese and baguette. We had purchased the cheeses from a grea...
A travel blog entry from London by winstonOur first full day in London and it is a Saturday. We woke about 8:30 am and Belle went in search of a shower as I tried to wake fully. Belle returned much sooner than I had expected with the distressing news - no hot water. I thought I would try my luck and so headed to the male showers just across from our room, where i enjoyed a beautifully w...
A travel blog entry from London by winstonWe woke around 8:00pm, showered and headed down for the 2 pound breakfast special. We took things fairly slowly and just after 10:00 am we set off for Finsbury Park by tube. We arrived just on 11:00am and were able to catch up with Kate Baillie, Sarah Catchlove's sister. We stayed for lunch and met Mary Conolley who knows Vic Russell and particu...
A travel blog entry from London by winstonWe started the day by heading downstairs to the breakfast room, after our showers, to enjoy bagels and cream cheese for breakfast. Kate had given us directions to the Bagel Shop in Finsbury Park from where the lunch Bagels had come from. As a result of our taste test at lunch, we had necessarily purchased some Bagels from the shop before boardin...
A travel blog entry from London by winstonOur final full day in London and the final full day of our trip. In some ways it is sad but we are both looking forward to heading home and the peace and quite of the couch. One of the things we have both really missed while on the road is having somewhere you can just sit and relax. Although there has usually been some sort of lounge room at al...
