A very quite christmas spent in Phitsanulok recharging batteries before Bangkok!! stayed in a porsh hotel and treated ourselves nice hot bath, chocolate, sweets, presents and even a mini-Xmas tree!!! had international buffet on Christmas day, and apart from going flat and watching telly, we've done absolutely nothing in this town LOL. Oh my god, I just wrote this really long extended entry and it just erased. I am not even going to try again. I had a very good course: I had a lot of aversion, I had traveler's stomach for about two days which sucked, and I am looking forward to serving for at least two more ten day courses and maybe sitting or serving a third ...

... you get on aeroplanes and a waitress serving coffee and cakes for breakfast. Things got even better at lunchtime when we were served a hot meal of chicken, rice and noodles!!! The day of food got better and better with our delicious curry dinner at the plastic-table restaurant. They let us try various curries before we ordered and the entire thing cost just 85 baht, ie about 1 pound 20!! We rounded off our day of lovely food ...

... it took 14 hours, with no toilet on the bus. In Bangkok, we went to the train station and cought the train to Phitsanulokfor another 8 hours. We arrived there, and took a tuk tuk to our hotel. The place was wonderful, with a clean room with TV, fan, and very clean shared bathroom for around 7/night/room for 2 people. Mom and Ela splurged on an air con room for 440.
