Travel Blogs from Cesky Krumlov
... interesting roads. Traffic was a little heavier than we are used to in Kärnten but we made reasonable progress anyway. After about an hour and a half a combination of numb bums and dry throats had us stopping alongside the Hallstättersee.
Onward to our lunch stop at Gmünden another lakeside town but one with an ever so slightly faded look to it. With grand buildings on every corner ...
... GOOD! I especially liked the local beer, Eggenberg, from here in Cesky Krumlov. This place is cheap! The accommodations for both Prague and Cesky Krumlov were less than $85 a night. Food that would have cost us $40-50 cost less than $20. One piece of advice: pay either in local currency or by credit card with no foreign transaction fee. ... hotel, very good and surprisingly cheap: 28 euros for the three of us, or 768 Czech Korunas. We spent two days trying to remember how to say "Prosim" and "Dekuju", please and thank you, practicing in eateries and shops, to the amusement of the locals.
We spent most of Wednesday wandering the old town, shopping and eating and taking more photos.
Back to the hotel by 4:30 to catch the shuttle service which would take us to Salzburg.
