Ain't Nuthin' but a Beijing Thang.
In an effort to remain concise, and because internet speeds
are not always the best overseas, I've begun to keep a personal journal in
addition to what I’ll be posting in this blog.
In the unlikely situation that my readers can’t get enough of my
exhaustive narrative, I’ll post more detailed musings at a …
I climbed The Great Wall of China in heels!
First stop off - Beijing. Was definitely cold - especially compared with what I was used to in Hong Kong - but nothing unbearable. I am definitely glad I invested in my ever-so-unattractive-but-cheap puffa jacket.
Was amused on the Hong Kong Airlines flights that they kept playing a videa promoting Beijing's friendly immigration staff. In …
Pollution, fakes, and and the Great Wall
(K): I'd like to start out this post by saying that China/Beijing isn't all bad. The reason I say this is my experience here has made it my least favorite place that I have visited thus far in Asia, and the blog post may seem very negative and sparce. So this is your official warning.

The Great Wall of China
They say you should always save the best for last and I think hiking along the Great Wall of China is a fitting way to finish an amazing year of travels.

Beijing before
Alright, a quick one before we go to the country that, apparently, "shall not be named" in a couple of hours.
According to this laptop, which is still on Denmark time, the time is 02:50, which it strangely doesn't feel like. We're in Beijing, it's hot and humid, and the smog is everywhere. But somehow the city seems hugely different from …

The room is very small and The smell is nauseating, but it is very clean and a great location (so great, most taxis can't find it so make sure you print out directions). Close to Forbidden city and night markets. The staff is very helpful and the common area is cozy. and FREE WIFI! The smell is a sewer smell that emanates from the drains in the bathroom and you will notice it in every bathroom you go into in Beijing. It's just a sucky part of the city, but it didn't affect us that much.
