4th-8th Oct – Making our way to Kuala Lumpur
Transit:
We arrived in Singapore airport very early and made our way to terminal 1 to go to the swimming pool where we planned to hang around until our flight at 4:10pm. It was 7... and you can only use the swimming pool once you have checked in – and …
One culture shock after another
Where to begin...
I suppose the start is traditional, but I've never been one to stick to the traditional, or conventional... or even the rational.
Tonight is the fourth and final night of me and my sister's visit to Kuala Lumpur, and in the tradition of world wide travelers managed to find the best spots almost as it was too late …
Being Boring
Arriving in KL was a bit of a culture shock after spending time on chilled beaches and in remote jungle villages. I think its probably the most modern city I have been to ever, never mind in just Asia. Huge billboards, high rise buildings and neon lights. It was also heaving, it being Hari Raya (end of Ramadan) and so we took the excuse of hiding …
Day 8 Kuala Lumpur

Great location, friendly staff that are very helpful and nice rooms. We had a four person room (two bunk bed and one double bed) for two nights and a double room for one night. Both rooms were clean, had new looking bathrooms with fantastic showers and powerful AC! all the backpacker touches you want like soap, hot water, nice bedding, towels, toilet paper, communal lounge/TV area, iron, communal fridge and a simple breakfast. The little roof terrace is not much to shout about but useful for smokers I suppose. We were pre-drinking before a night out and there is no issue with bringing your own drink in, we were lent glasses etc. and could store drinks in the fridge. The wifi is good, mainly in the shared areas but we could pick it up in one of the rooms but not the furthest from the router. The location is perfect for being in the centre of the action and there are posters all over the hostel with train/bus timetables, info on going to the main tourist attractions and for exploring the surrounding areas. I felt very 'at home' here, the owners seem very clued up to what backpackers would want and for the price it was a great place to stay in the city. I'd stay here again.

If you want to be in the middle of town, near Changkat, near good shopping, near great food and near the monorail - this is the place for you. The rooms are beautifully designed and the toilets are clean with brilliant showers, the breakfast is basic but the jam is soooo tasty. This place is really good, a recommended place to stay!

Hostel ini sangat kecil, juga sangat murah. Kamarnya sangat bersih. Bagus banget deh.
