40 College Crescent, Swiss Cottage London, England, United Kingdom
Phew - we have been busy, busy tourists! We had a successful Ryanair flight over to London on Tuesday. We arrived and checked into our hostel in a rather posh neighborhood near Victoria station. Tired and hungry we were able to stumble into a nice pizzeria (Pizza Express - thanks John!) for some tasty food before stumbling into bed. In the morni...
A travel blog entry from London by bachcjHello again everyone. We finally managed to snag some internet time in Italy so I thought I would tell you about our adventures in London. I will try to organize things better when I get more time. For now you just have to suffer through my verbal diarrhea :S Day 1: Just to let everyone know ... the incident with the pocket knife at the airport ...
A travel blog entry from London by essonseaI got up really early this morning because I was super nervous and excited for my upcoming trip. The night before, I had set out everything that I wanted to bring, but I needed to go out and buy a bag to bring it in. Ryanair is the name of the airline that we had booked our flight with, and since they are a discount airline company, they have lo...
A travel blog entry from London by jenkanzI told the people at Palmers Lodge what had happened, and just like typical Londoners, they were extremely concerned and sympathetic. Immediately, one of the men behind the desk told that I would be taken care of completely, and not to worry about lodging or food because they would make sure that I was taken care of. Cindy had lent me money to b...
A travel blog entry from London by jenkanzFinally I can get myself to a computer to blog a brief entry! Sorry for my slacking, but I haven't been in Rome for the past week or so as we had our Northern Cities field trip. We traveled to Venice, Florence, Pienza, and a few other hill towns. We had an excellent time in all three places, although I was bummed to not go on a Gondola ride in V...

P.S. If you are ever staying in London..... stay at Palmer's Lodge hostel. It is AMAZING, it's in a beautiful Victorian mansion in a gorgeous part of London- the staff is nice, it's close ...
A travel blog entry from London by maesySo I finished my stint in Amsterdam and I went out with a bang. I spent my last day at the moderm art museum which was pretty cool. They only had on exibit open so it was half price. Some really cool things to see. The exibit totally focused on video and light. Lots of flat panel displaying mind blowing things. That night Holland was playing in ...
A travel blog entry from London by mike81The ride under La Manche was suprisingly short, leaving Paris (Gare du Nord) at 14:13, I've arrived to London (St. Pancras) at 15:26 (local time, mind the 1 hour difference in time zones). Unlike Paris, London's train stations and "Tube" (subway) are very well-organized and clean. I easily bought a multiple ride Oyster card and found my station,...

A travel blog entry from London by pyresSinse Bath was a part of the Stonehenge trip, I got to see it once again. And this time I visited the actual roman bath, built senturies ago when Britania was a small part of the Roman Empire. It is believed that the hot spring was used and worshipped even before the romans, by celtic tribes. Celts built a shrine dedicated to goddess Sulis, whic...

A travel blog entry from London by pyresWell I have officially made it through a whole day in London, England. My flight left Saturday night from Detroit at 9:20pm and arrived in London at 10:05am in London (5:00am Michigan time.)
