Cool jungle hostel to stay in. Had pool tables, swimming pool and seemed to have a good atmosphere.

    Lot of Unused Potential

Stayed 2 nights there last year at the Campground. To be fair Cape Tribulation is a bit off the road and so you can't expect the Hilton. However they could do so much more. The space for the tents was quite illogical arranged and huge stones made parking difficult.

The shared kitchen facilities were rather messy and the showers were really old and dirty (clean showers are a must if you run a accommodation). The pool is big and nice and location is very near to the beach.

It's okay for staying a night or two with a tent but they could do much more.

    Terrible PK's

This place is a dive, do not stay there. The idea of staying in a 'jungle village' sounded pretty cool, however the place was a huge let down. The rooms were dirty and damp, the kitchen was the worst hostel kitchen that I've ever had the misfortune of cooking in and the service was average at best. On the plus side, the drive up from Port Douglas was awesome and there is some amazing scenery in the surrounding areas. There was a beautiful swimming hole close by, which we had completely to ourselves. Definitely come and visit this part of Australia, it's a really unique spot, but avoid PK's at all costs.

Yesterday we started our doing cape Tribulation and Daintree Rainforest trip. We've been on a little boat that went across the river where we saw saltwater crocodiles. Did you know that live in the sea as well?? I didn't, but yeah crocs can swim in the sea too, I thought they just hung out in swamps and lakes. We did a walk in the Daintree …

23 & 24th April: Cairns, Atherton Tablelands and Cape Tribulation I arrived in Cairns bleary eyed in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Although, sleeping on a table tray when you've got a memory-foam travel pillow isn't all that bad! (Best purchase ever). I got the shuttle to Gilligans, my hostel and arrived there at about 6.30am. I didn't …
