Day 7: South of the Equator!

... Since this is my first time, it made it very difficult to understand what they are asking you in Spanish for. Normally the flight attendant would only speak to me to ask what I want to drink. However, today I has handed hot towels, asked if I wanted pancakes or omelet, what do I want for desert, if I want a glass of wine, if I needed help with my immigration form.... you get the point. The four hour flight from Santiago in Chile to Lima in Peru was a little more (um, shall we say atypical). I walked in, said some very poor Spanish and just showed them my foot (which was very dirty) they just took my money and threw tonnes of drugs at me. I have no idea what they are. They could be anything. If the blog starts getting weird it's because I am tripping due to some random pills. But my promise was complete so Mum can stop nagging now. Beto and I went ...

Lima: Sleep, Steak, Ceviche and Catacombs

... in circular patterns - fascinating but a bit eerie to walk through! Attached to the church is a stunning monastery, which was flattened by an earthquake in the 1700s, with only a few walls remaining where the original tile decor is still visible. The monastery also had the most beautiful wood carved ceilings which are held in place by the pressure of the panels. So absolutely no nails or glue holding the wood in place. The Monastery was beautiful, and is in dire need of repair. It ...
