Today we went on a bus and walking city tour of Lima. We drove past Huaca Pullcana, a clay brick solid pyramid built nearly 2000 years ago. The flat top was a religious area where sacrifices, usually females, took place. We drove past several prominent buildings of varying cultural styles. We visited the archaeological part of a museum that showed the beginnings of the different civilisations of South America from about 5000 years ago. ...

John has a high school classmate who married a Peruvian woman, so we had some nice intel about Lima. We went to the San Antonio Bakery for lunch, which is not a tourist place and tried an empanada to start (yummy) and ended with fabulous pastries…..which we had to take half of each home for later!
