... of cats too. It was a really nice afternoon.

That evening we had some beers down by the beach for our last night.

The next day we couldn't go out and do too much as we had our flight to catch so we went back to the cat park.

And that was it for South America! A few tears saying goodbye to Corinne and we were in a taxi heading for the airport.

... separating lantana (a nice link back to my conservation work in Australia when I had to pull up lantana!), twigs, another leaf; and then seeds and hair from it all. Incredibly detailed work, but again quite rewarding when you have done it all. Alejandro showed us how he separated the different shells within each quadrada and then had to write a report in what had been found there and how they might have been used. ... 2 nights. Me and Ella both wanted to stay away as much as possible so we went on an all day biking trip around Peru. We were in a group and saw most of Lima. Our tour guide was very nice and tried to make us feel welcome. Now to the hotel. The next day we headed to the Museum of Peruvian Culture. ... weather here. By lunch time the mist burns off and the days have then been warm and pleasant.

At 2pm we were picked up for a tour of the historic city centre, especially St Francis monastery. The monastery library and Moorish tiles were a highlight - unfortunately no photos allowed. Under the church are catacombs with the bones of c.70,000 people - quite macabre; Susie made it through the whole catacombs, I was happy to leave early!

... and recovering slowly. 10:00 snorkelling at Champion island. The water is warm, the visibility is great at 10 to 20m. We see 2 white-tip reef sharks, lots of fish, and many sea lions playing and swimming around us. Fantastic! 11:30 back on board. 12:00 lunch, play chess with nina. Lewys watches a film, ioan is sunbathing 15:00 zodiac visit of the bay. Ioan and nina kayak, Anna stays on boat. It's a nice visit with sea lions playing, turtles, red looking marine iguanas.
