Under the Tuscan Sun.

Today we woke up for our second full day in Florence. I went to the basin as I wanted to wash my face. But, I turned the tap on and what do you know, NO WATER. GREAT. Nothing worked.. And we had one flush in the toilet. Good start to the morning hey.

We got ready to head out. We went downstairs and went to get our 1.5 litre …

Today we woke up in Florence. A new city, a new day.
Everyone has told us that Florence has been one of their favourite cities in Europe to visit. So naturally, this gave us high expectations!

We had tickets booked for Accademia Gallery for 8.15, opening time. We had to get there 15 minutes before that time, so we had to get a fairly …

Ciao, Florence.

We bought our tickets to Florence from Pisa train station. It was only 4 more euros to upgrade to first class. So we thought, why not!? First class TO pisa was awesome! So we thought we would get that again.

So we bought our tickets and headed to our platform to wait. The train arrived. Normally first class is at the front, but for this …

Our first afternoon in Florence we spent doing our own thing, so I went off for a bit of a walk around the suburbs where our hostel was, and managed to get tangled up in crowds of Florentine fans in purple heading to a football match at the stadium which was just down the road!!
They seemed to be flooding in, in their hundreds every age and …

La Bella Firenze: The Start of My Solo Traveling

A travel blog entry by magicoftravel

I headed to Florence from Venzia to the 7 Santi. I paid for the previous night that I had missed because I stayed an extra night in Venice to take care of my friend who was ill and had to go back to Geneva, Switzerland.

I was exhausted from not sleeping for nearly a week. I walked up the stairs and went into my hostel room to chill out. …

    Lots of space

    This hostel seems huge!
As it is an old converted convent, the hallways in this place are huge! The rooms weren't too bad either although the beds seemed well worn in.
We had a few problems trying to get the lights going in the bathroom.. but soon got accustomed to not having them!
This place does a fantastic cheap buffet dinner which is different every night, and the buffet breakfast is also good for 4euros!

Although it seems a bit far out of the centre of Florence, it is still within walking distance!

    Great People, Clean Place!

I loved the hostel. It was spacious and I was greeted with great backpackers all over the world. I booked myself for a shared room and shared with four people. THe beds were comfortable, and they provided extra blankets. Also, the bathrooms were well kept and clean. They had breakfast in the morning, which cost 5 euro, but it was all you can eat. They also have activities at night to give backpackers an opportunity to socialize. I wanted to stay there for the longest time!
